What is SAP Fiori — and why teams still live in the GUI
SAP Fiori is the role-based, browser UX and app family for SAP business software. Technically it sits on SAPUI5, OData services and Fiori Launchpad (or Build Work Zone). On S/4HANA, Fiori is the default UX; on ECC it opens through Gateway.
Launchpad, catalog, space
Users open apps from tiles. A tile belongs to a catalog and a role. Spaces & Pages replace the old group model. A wrong catalog is reported as “we have no Fiori”. That is why SAP Fiori consulting starts with information architecture.
Fiori Elements and RAP
Most list and object pages are generated with Fiori Elements. The data model is CDS; behaviour is SAP RAP. Freestyle SAPUI5 is the exception. This keeps clean-core and upgrade cost down.
When is SAP BTP needed?
